On further reflection it's actually a good badge for me because never mind zero xmas kms recorded, I never give a monkey's how many kms ("miles") recorded so I shall leave it on the bike permanently.

Having said that, on this month's upcoming BaM ride, assuming it goes as intended, the distance covered will be absolutely critical to the nearest metre. But it will be a one-off, fear not.

Felt a bit guilty trying to scrounge someone else's cast-off so invested in a shiny brand new one after all. Was torn between saving wasting printing a new one (which I guess has already been printed anyway) and wanting to pay my way properly. Decisions . Morals .

Anyroad only really interested in our Stu's exposay. First glance, the B&W (huge bonus points for that) photos are really excellent - what did you think of them Stu? I thought they really captured the essence of cheery goodwill-to-all-wo/men bonhomie . I'm joking of course, they were really well done and atmospheric. Liked the pliers/hands/boots trio especially. Cracking that they headlined the '"What the fvck are you doing [Mike]?" quote .

Hopefully it's put everyone off bikepacking forever .

I didn't really clock that the conversation was being recorded, which is good really because as it stands, there's no punches pulled, which as you say Reg, will likely put the masses off bikepacking for a few years to come.

So do we - living on a private water supply that can dry up in summer means it's standard practice. Unfortunately the house wasn't set up with a separate grey water system so we can't then use it for watering the garden.

I haven't had a bath in years - since we got a shower - but I can well remember sharing bathwater back in the days. I can well remember everyone only having one bath a week, too, (except miners). 'S funny, but I don't remember anyone being stinky. Probably because everyone was stinky and it was the norm. Or p'raps it was the Lifebuoy soap that was marketed as preventing B.O.

My standard flask advice is Zojirushi. That dates back several years and was discovered after various disappointments. It doesn't look much different from run-of-the-mill flasks, it just works brilliantly for some reason.
