... and summat for my bike:

On further reflection it's actually a good badge for me because never mind zero xmas kms recorded, I never give a monkey's how many kms ("miles") recorded so I shall leave it on the bike permanently.
Having said that, on this month's upcoming BaM ride, assuming it goes as intended, the distance covered will be absolutely critical to the nearest metre. But it will be a one-off, fear not.

Re: The post man's been ...
.... and summink for my eyes:

Felt a bit guilty trying to scrounge someone else's cast-off so invested in a shiny brand new one after all. Was torn between saving wasting printing a new one (which I guess has already been printed anyway) and wanting to pay my way properly. Decisions
. Morals
.
Anyroad only really interested in our Stu's exposay. First glance, the B&W (huge bonus points for that) photos are really excellent - what did you think of them Stu? I thought they really captured the essence of cheery goodwill-to-all-wo/men bonhomie
. I'm joking of course, they were really well done and atmospheric. Liked the pliers/hands/boots trio especially. Cracking that they headlined the '"What the fvck are you doing [Mike]?" quote
.
Hopefully it's put everyone off bikepacking forever
.
Right, off to savour it with some chocolate in the bath.

I do really like the 'boot & wheel' picture ... mainly because I don't appear to be 103 on it
No, some great pictures in there. I didn't really clock that the conversation was being recorded, which is good really because as it stands, there's no punches pulled, which as you say Reg, will likely put the masses off bikepacking for a few years to come.

Two #GravelWanker tee shirts. Really quick delivery and they look like decent quality too.

'Distinguished' was the word that first sprang to mind when I saw them

Well that was a daft idea. Dropped some little pieces in the water without realising. Got out later. Mrs Perrin goes in a while afterwards. Screeching noise (nothing unusual there obviously). "Ewww, what's that in the bath".with some chocolate in the bath

(Well Hermes) and pushed a new BB for the fat bike through the cat flap (the cat wasn't using it at the time). Now just got to get the bloody crankset off to fit it

So do we - living on a private water supply that can dry up in summer means it's standard practice. Unfortunately the house wasn't set up with a separate grey water system so we can't then use it for watering the garden.pistonbroke wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 5:26 pm@Reg, you share bath water, as in one after the other, you really do live in the 1970'sGot out later. Re: The post man's been ...
Applies to everything in the Perrin partnership never mind baths!
And I think we're 1870's rather than 1970's TBH

If I ever had a bath, then I'm sure we'd share the water.

Re: The post man's been ...
Snap with others sharing baths. All that chuffing water for one person seems crazy. Happily it's also better for the world too
Not with Stu's arrangement though. Eww

Re: The post man's been ...
I haven't had a bath in years - since we got a shower - but I can well remember sharing bathwater back in the days. I can well remember everyone only having one bath a week, too, (except miners). 'S funny, but I don't remember anyone being stinky. Probably because everyone was stinky and it was the norm. Or p'raps it was the Lifebuoy soap that was marketed as preventing B.O.pistonbroke wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 5:26 pm

A new flask. It was expensive as flasks go but I'm hoping it'll prevent the bitter disappointment of discovering your brew's cold on some desolate hill-top after four hours of wild anticipation.

My standard flask advice is Zojirushi. That dates back several years and was discovered after various disappointments. It doesn't look much different from run-of-the-mill flasks, it just works brilliantly for some reason.
