Bottle cages

Can anybody suggest a cage that has the bolt holes further up the cage meaning the cage will sit lower in the frame?

I've got an aluminium cage (think it might be Topeak) where the bosses are nylon blocks, these can be slid up and down the cage so you can adjust where the cage sits.

You've got me thinking about this now. It would certainly be nice to be able to lower a single cage right down to allow use of one bottle and a smallish top tube bag.

Thats the problem I'm trying too overcome FLV.
I've tried a side opening cage with a 500ml bottle and it's a pretty good fit with only a small amount of touching the bottom of the Ocelot.
Might not need the adaptor after all.

I have a 650ml bottle but would like to use a 750 perhaps. I have a tangle bag too but am interested in a smaller bag

Just want to have a look see how much it moves with 750mm bottle on it. Inputs are the problem, I dunno how much force is transmitted at that point. I reckon if I check it at 10xG it should be fine and dandy.

Got a quote on those adapters. Not cheap. It changes by a couple of quid the more I buy but... the first quote has come in at just over £40 each for 5 out of 7075...

I think I'll try a few more places!

I wouldnt think so - When used on the downtube.

I could draw one up easily enough. It would move the bottle forward on the bike. Like I say though. They're about 40 quid a pop to buy about 4

i use these, because of the split bolt holes they fit over the seat clamp perfectly :)

I dont have any measurements to hand for the correct position of the seat tube bottle bosses or mech band but you get the idea

Washers / spacers/shims. Often see this when you have a small frame with bottle cages on the down tubes that foul a mech clamp.

Anyone done an MYOG version of this using a strip of Meccano? Might not work, but in my head I'm picture a strip of meccano bolted to existing bottle cage bosses, then the cage bolted to some of the holes in the strip in a different position.... Just a thought.
