Frame Bags on Carbon Frames? Do or Don't?

I recently picked up a Planet X Dirty Disco which I plan to use for some touring next year.

It's the first time I've had a carbon bike, and I am not sure if putting a frame bag on it would be a good idea. I've always been under the impression that carbon doesn't like anything rubbing against it.

What do you think?

Or would another option be to heli-tape the frame where the frame bag will wrap 'round?

from my experience with carbon frames they deffo dont like rubbing. but usually harm comes from harsh harder objects, ie a bottle wih a stone stuck under can create a hole! muddy gritty tyres can rub the carbon stays :(
seen both, done one of them :(
But i haven't ever tried a bag on a frame. Heli tape should prevent any problems.
I'm tempted by a disco too :)

I bought a Lurcher that is going to be my bikepacking/race bike and I'm planning on just taping it all up big time.

Yeh, I saw Mike Hall's Dirty Disco set-up too.

I think I'll try my best to put everything under the saddle and on the bars, and if more space is needed, the frame bag will make an appearance with some heli-tape for protection...

Aye - just tape it all up. You really need to do that with any bike unless it's bare metal or you want the paint rubbed off.
