This is lovely. Just enough sweetness to balance the hops, not too dry, not too sickly

Azacca & Waimea? Weren't they a comedy double-act on telly a while ago?

Re: What are you drinking now?
Finally opened that there Broodog 'Nitro Jet Black Heart' (vanilla choc oatmeal stout). Not Friday, and was saving for Crimbo, but this is an emergency situation (klaxon blares in background, blokes in black jumpsuits abseiling down through big hole in ceiling, smoke grenades, John Barry soundtrack etc etc), Sounds like summat Stu would put in one of his bikes. Certainly quite a complex libation.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Right now I am mostly drinking.....too much!
A combination of too much work (so rewards earned), a broken rib (medicine needed), festive period (too many excuses to 'socialise - but not as we know it) and the local place getting in some real humdinger crafty beer choices (lots of UK, US and other gems).
I don't stand a chance!*

Re: What are you drinking now?
A 7.8%IPA from Lidl made by an artisan German beer factory in Mannheim has been followed by a cheeky Catalan Cabre & Sabate Cava courtesy of Mercadona at €1.99 a bottle. I may have a headache in the morning
Edit, Mrs PB informs me that the Cava was €1.63, we've just fired up the Zoom device for a quiz with the Sheffield posse and I've just realised that I look like Robert Fripp, pity MrsPB doesn't favour Toyah, one for the STW aficionados

Re: What are you drinking now?
I knew I could rely on you Chris mate for something a bit special on Crimbo eve - never mind vanilla, it's imperial vanilla. I suppose it's in the spirit of the moment too, what with everyone thinking they've now regained an empire.... although maybe like the beer the after-effects may not be quite what they're expecting....
Still, I can't talk, bottle of English (British? Saxon? I've lost track who I'm meant to be any longer) wine for us tonight.
Saving my wacky beers for tomorrow.

Re: What are you drinking now?
Well I DO have a bad ass, it may have something to do with the peanut butter-jelly Porter I was drinking yesterday

In my younger days we achieved the same effect by dropping a snifter of port in yer Guinness

Re: What are you drinking now?

Well it seemed appropriate

Is that the Northern Monk (possibly?) one I saw in Tesco? Tempting. I like peanut butter and jam... but in a porter?BigdummySteve wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 10:32 pm

I believe it was, thankfully it didn’t really taste of peanut butter or jam, it was nice and I think approaching 9% ....although my memory might be hazy

Just added a 10% Delirium Tremens to tonight's intake. Sure it's just what's needed for catching up with University Challenge.

My barley wine is (or rather was) 10.1% so I'm a nose in front
