Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Good shout. I’ve gone back to organic brake pads as they feel great and don’t squeal. £3.78 for four pairs of XTs on Ali Express
Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Garmin 1030 £299 on CRC Black Friday. That a good deal? I'm not after one, but remembered someone was and just got the mail/spam
Re: Bargain Alert Thread
I dunno whether this is cheap enough to count as a bargain but if anyone wants to join the Bearbones/Outdry club Columbia have some reductions going on at the moment. I have an older version of this jacket and it's been decent.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
A little while ago they were doing a discount code that got you one for £119. That lead me to buy my fourthJurassic wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 12:40 pm I dunno whether this is cheap enough to count as a bargain but if anyone wants to join the Bearbones/Outdry club Columbia have some reductions going on at the moment. Given they're a very *american* brand anyone interested might be worth holding out for Black Friday in case they issue another code or reduce prices. Complete speculation on my part.
It's a nice bit of kit and definitely at the lighter-weight end of the Outdry jackets.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Pretty cheap for an outdry jacket:
https://www.columbiasportswear.co.uk/p/ ... YYs-3sqLaA
The delightful grey version has better range of sizes for same price (£100)
This one is also v.light (for an Outdry) and irritating cheaper than the one I bought recently
https://www.columbiasportswear.co.uk/p/ ... 845&pos=29
Even the hi vis and so imaginatively named "Chartreuse Heather" version of he Reign (with pit zips) is a relative bargain at £108:

I really don't need another

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
I don't know if it's a bargain but a mailing came through from these guys that they've saterted their Boxing Day sale early
https://smartbikelights.com/collections/all
I got some of these as a "multi-buy" deal a little while ago (Cube II):

So far they've been reliable and (faint praise) unnoticeable, just chuck it on the seatpost and bimble along. THe battery seems to last OK, the auto on features save a bit of energy in case I am mega forgetful, the beam / modes seem sensible. I can't vouch for the "brake light" function because I don't ride with people often and/or haven't bothered to check
There's various multi-buy deals on their site so if someone intends to get any they might want to mention it in case others want to go in and make the ££s stretch further. Personally I wonder about a little Cliq and Navi 600 (rear and front) deal:

I don't know if all Lidl have them but I've just picked up a lightweight (read summer or mid-layer) down jacket for £11.99. 90/10 RDS certified down, YKK zip and generally feels very good.

Ah, I saw the ad for that. I did wonder if they'd be any good. Even though £12 should result in some managed expectations...Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 1:09 pm I don't know if all Lidl have them but I've just picked up a lightweight (read summer or mid-layer) down jacket for £11.99. 90/10 RDS certified down, YKK zip and generally feels very good.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
I think these were reduced from just under £20 Nige but even at that, they seem like a good deal.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
I bought two of the lidl down jackets at £11.99 each, one has a hood and one doesn't. I am impressed with them, they are quite thin and best used as a layer, or summer evening type use, but for the price outstanding, they have few frills like elastic in the waist or zips on pockets, but they also don't have any logo's on the outside to say where it came from.
For the money if it gets chewed up in a chain/jacket interface scenario, I won't be too upset.
