Smart Trainer SOLD

Post by Brothersmith »

Cyclops Magnus Smart trainer, current model called Saris M2. Its in good nick and has all the usual ANT+, Bluetooth smarts to get you started with Zwift, TrainerRoad, Sufferfest etc. Its a wheel on trainer and will take axle lengths from 130-142

Bought it two years ago to see what all this indoor training lark was about, turned out I quite liked it and gave me a bit of sanity during lockdown. So decided to upgrade before second lockdown hits (and every where goes out of stock of trainers again  )

110 GBP collected from Staffordshire or Leicestershire area, or can arrange courier but that will probably add about 20GBP

does it vary the resistance automatically? How "good" is it?

I have a non smart one and want to upgrade to use Zwift etc.

If it is a varying one, I'd like dibs please (can pick up)

thanks

It certainly is, will connect to your phone/tablet/Apple TV/computer with bluetooth or you can get an ANT dongle (about 10GBP from amazon) to connect it to a PC/Mac.

It has two controllable resistance settings; First is ERG mode, this is where you do a planned workout in an app such as TrainerRoad or Sufferfest and the trainer will lock you in that effort no matter what gear your in. The other is sim mode where a programme like Zwift or Rouvy will vary the resistance to mimic the terrain you ride in a virtual world.

A couple of reviews for you

The take home is, great resistance unit for structured workouts but lacks big fly wheel for road feel in real sim. Personally never found this a huge problem as your always going to be sat in your garage staring at a telly, so feel is a bit irrelevant :ugeek:

I also have a 30 day trial to Rouvy which came with my new trainer which ill chuck in.
