I've studied the lovely Hope pdf that gives all (most) of the pick n mix sizes they produce but I'm still non the wiser. If the bottom bearing were 1 1/2" life would be fairly easy
Evening. I think there was an FSA Orbit that came tapered 11/8 to 11/4 and integrated as I had one on a Condor road bike (I think so anyway) any 5 years ago.
Was listening to my local bike shop manager thos morning bemoaning the myriad of headset standards these days and how hard it was to keep stock of them all. All I wanted was a straight external 11/8. He had heaps but none in black ....
Mine is a 1 1/8" and 1 1/2" jobby, but with 1 1/8" steerer tube on the fox forks.
It's an FSA Orbit headset if that helps, and the bearings are standard size, with just an adapter at the fork crown end to go from 1 1/8" to the 1 1/2" bearing on the steerer.
That said, I did find this which I think might sort you out.
Ring Hope. If they do it they'll sort you out. IME they often do a lot more stuff than appears in the catalogues or on trade price lists, hence always worth a quick call.
Thanks for the input folks, I've now got a couple of possible options. However,it seems that there's some debate as to whether the frame really has a 1 1/4" bottom ... I'm hoping it's 1 1/2" as that'll make everything much easier.

I'm guessing you don't have the frame in question as otherwise you'd have measured it?
