Currently torn between a fortitude adventure with hub gears and 29er with front sus. Will probably depend on how muddy and wet it gets over next couple of weeks.

Its Cannondale Caadx, with Kenda Cross Supreme 37mm tyres, transmission is 34x28, a bit overgeared for mountains but hope will be fine :)

I'm riding my Carbon XC whippet Cube Reaction GTC SL. Putting some fast rolling Schwalbe Rocket Rons on it to make up some time on the road, and will just go sideways on the slippy bits
(I'm also gonna run the tactic of high (relatively) tyre pressures at the start for the fast road bit, then let some air out (marginal gains and all that).

Was going to be my Stumpy hardtail (2002, so a 26"), but dealing with a grumpy mrs at the moment as she wants to go to see eldest in Italy that weekend (only announced that today) so I may have to scratch the BB200 (do I keep her happy or me happy? - my heart says me, my head says her!)

Beth says she'll go to Italy with your wife, so you can do the BB200
Seriously, that's a shame if you can't do it - I was looking forward to a good head to head with you this year

Both be happy. Send her to Italy, you ride with us.
I will be riding my one and only bike, a very heavy Surly Karate Monkey with an Alfine 8.

If I thought I had the legs to pedal this around in under 24 hours, I'd probably give it a go:

It's more likely that I'll be on the Pegasus though (32:18 or 32:19 - haven't decided yet)

Just think how comfy you'd be, and you could just float over the river crossings
