The ROW appears to go between two fences/boundaries as far as I can make out from the screen shot if the map. Therefore it’s probably under the trees as JC says.

Yup. Explored it properly and concluded the same just now. Glad the farmer was nice and glad I didn't damage antthing whilst riding on through (except maybe trampled the grass but ...)

That's pretty much the exact strategy that everyone aiming for a black badge will be following, although not everyone's going to be capable of a 16hr finish obvo.

I think any BB event is easier when riding an armchair in front of the tv than being out in the actual Welsh hills. For a number of years the BB200 was the hardest single stage event in the UK. There aren’t many events with a minimum 5000m of climbing.

I think Phil Simcock finished in 14 hours in 2012 or 13. He’s a bit quick though!!

Don't worry Juliet, no one here is having a pop and JC is a teddy bear who has already been corrected.
I'm sure you'll do fine, it's a mental challenge more than anything.
The point being made is a general one of the BB200 often having a bite bigger than its bark. From experience I can say that 200km that I would breeze on home territory has been a grueller for me in BB200 terms.
Lots of advice on here if you want it.

we know it's going to be bloody hard out there.. some long hikes by the looks of things. So who's riding sat n sun, im probably starting from the fforest Inn area as its the closer point to me. It also gives good refuel stops on route im hoping with timings ( well in my head anyhow )

I'd like to say ill see the brecon beacons in the light but I don't think that's going to happen.

I've been plotting out an overnighter from Sheffield. 95km, at least 6 pubs, not counting the start/finish.
