What a great film that is. Might be a buddy Holly day tomorrow.RIP wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 9:21 pm OK, how far back can we go. Forget E* P*, without Buddy RnR would R&R ever have happened at all? 1959. Terrible loss. Possibly the earliest punk rock?

I have just discovered Lucas Nelson and Promise of the Real.
Turns out to be son of Willie and been playing with Neil Young for years.
Why does nobody tell me these things?
So currently listening to 'Mr Young' and spin offs plus CSNY.

Workshop was far too dull today so I played a bit of system of a down: https://youtu.be/IPRuKXRuyhI
Re: What are you listening to now?
Having to play from orbit...no one is louder than Disaster Area! My brother and I were waxing lyrical about Desatio Hotblack's spaceship the other day. Irony is delicious! : )
Currently playing Roger Waters "Is This The Life We Really Want" with Bebel Gilberto "Momento" cued up next.

I've still got the original vinyl double LP, AND the "TRATEOTU" LP
. Curious that we've both raised this, because they've only very recently re-released the "HHGTTG" one, so get yer money out - https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/miscella ... nyl-i.html. Interesting to read that Adams played with Pink Floyd on stage on his 42nd birthday!

Re: What are you listening to now?
Well you've set me off now. I've extracted the LP's and will play them over the next few days.
Stored right next to them are my Spinal Tap "Break Like The Wind!" and none-more-black "This Is" LPs - they'll be next. Even got the rare Stonehenge-shaped picture-disc single: https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/1402890134?iid ... akQAvD_BwE. The disc isn't round, it's actually a cut-out Stonehenge. £70 now, blimey!
Going to reminisce now about attending the backstage party when they played the Albert Hall on 7th July 1992. Got invited after they spotted the 18" high polystyrene Stonehenge model that we fed out from our box over the main auditorium, tethered to some cotton and held up by a load of helium balloons!! Ah, great days
.
Cracking video of the whole thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7w1pf0-lfA. Just the first four minutes features Stumpy Ric's ludicrous drum kit, Derek's double-guitar, Nige strung up on wires after they didn't lower him to the stage properly, etc etc; the rest is equally insane.

Along with ‘The life of Brian’ three of my favourite films, don’t mention Blues Brothers 2000

To add a light seasoning to a feeling of listlessness today, listening to Hammock's album 'Kenotic'. It's apologetically ambient

Currently listening to DRI - Dealing With It....getting gee'd up to go for an early spin.
Watched Dogs In Space last night...classic Aussie post-punk flick with a good soundtrack. If you remember inner city share housing and the craziness that went on...you'll feel at home with this. I'm sure it's similar the world over.

We have ways of making you talk podcasts.
All about WW2, debunking myths and side stories that you've probably never heard about.
Fascinating.

Yeah... need to listen some more tonight. But first some more head banging Deftones.
Much fun fixing the three.

Best Joy Division song I can think of - a cover used for an otherwise shitty movie...
