Help with Dakota 20 Tracks.....

Post by welshwhit »

Sorry to ask what I presume to be a simply fix, but one that is beyond me at present!

I keep saving a track as I complete a route, and I always reset everything before I start a route, and clear it once saved. . . . but. . . . when I load the route to the computer [Basecamp and sometimes strava] the route adds huge direct lines from the place I last used the device or even, just groups 2/3 consecutive rides together!?

I am doing something really dim here or have I missed a trick?

Thanks in advance

I'm sat here with my Dakota literally having just added tomorrow's track to follow..... ;)

Are you going through the process of

Setup>Reset>Reset trip data timers, etc.

AND

Setup>Reset>Clear current track memory used

and then switching it off before it starts recording another trip?

When you switch it on, it will try to find out where it is. Do not clear the track log until it has done this.

When you get to the end of the ride, save the Current Track. It will save with a date/timestamp. This is the one you need to upload. Make sure you aren't looking at the "weekly archive" as that may have quite a few tracks in it.

The Trip Data is separate and has nothing to do with the tracklog, so it isn't the Reset command you need.
