Bear Bones Bikepacking Events Calendar.
Looking for something to ride? Can't recall what date a certain event's on? Generally a bit forgetful?
Well, thanks to Ione, help is at hand in the shape of the Bear Bones Calendar which you can find via the link below.

Thanks Stu!
Also worth saying that to add the calendar to your own Google/outlook/icalender you can use this link
https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ic ... /basic.ics
To add an event to the calendar, send an invitation to this email - including all information about the event necessary to book a place. Location of the event, distance and a web address if there is one or contact details of the organiser.

@Ione...thanks for the ICS link. Imports into Calendar on OSX nicely. Now I can see what you've all been on about. :)

I think I just added the Peak ITT group start - going for a mid May date this year (well next year!)
10am. 13th May. Edale.

Re: Bear Bones Bikepacking Events Calendar.
Did you use the invite function on the calendar entry screen?

Did you use the invite function on the calendar entry screen rather than emailing the event to the email address
I can't send one to my own account to test - but there is an 'invitees' section on the event entry screen it should add it straight to the calendar if you put the email in there

Re: Bear Bones Bikepacking Events Calendar.
I have tried but this seems to be beyond my inadequate skills. Could some kind person add "1st July 2017 Borders 350" and "1 March 2017, Registration Borders 350, email me at borders350itt@gmail.com"
Thank you.
Thank you.

Will do Ray - I will go on my desk top later as I can't access all the settings from my phone. :)

Re: Bear Bones Bikepacking Events Calendar.
Am I right in thinking that to add an event you create one in your own calendar then invite the BB calendar? I'm unable to create an event directly in the calendar on the web page - there's no event entry screen I can get to that applies to the BB calendar as it is listed in "other calendars". I might have done it via iCal - it appears locally and I sent the invite but nothing appears as yet on the web version. If a "test event" appears for the 5th November then it's worked.

Re: Bear Bones Bikepacking Events Calendar.
It should be set up to automatically upload events when an invitation is sent to that email account . . . I will check that works later from home.
You can't add directly to the calendar only send invitations to it - unless you are either me or stu!

I invited that email address after creating it in my own calendar. It say that a response is awaited from the bb calendar...adjustablewench wrote:Did you use the invite function on the calendar entry screen rather than emailing the event to the email address

But it's on my calendar in two entries - the one I made and shows up in the same colour as the bb calendar too

Having a quick look I notice that the Bb winter event is shown a week early in the calendar.

I just looked at that right now and it scared me - then double checked and all was well againBlackhound wrote:Having a quick look I notice that the Bb winter event is shown a week early in the calendar.

Re: Bear Bones Bikepacking Events Calendar.
I have added the teddy barebones, spanish coast to coast and stu's run to the sun to the calendar.
If anyone wants anything else added can you put dates on here and myself or zippy will add them. He has the power too - and is probably on here a lot more than me atm :)

Is it just me, or did this not ever get added?Ray Young wrote:I have tried but this seems to be beyond my inadequate skills. Could some kind person add "1st July 2017 Borders 350" and "1 March 2017, Registration Borders 350, email me at borders350itt@gmail.com"

Necro....
I like the concept of an events calendar. Shame it's not really come about.
In the meantime, does anyone know what events have been scheduled for September this year? I'm just trying to ascertain overlaps between a proposed Cairngorms Loop 300 group start and anything else.

Re: Bear Bones Bikepacking Events Calendar.
ScotDURO was supposed to be on the 5th and 6th, dunno what's happening with that. The Dirty Reiver was rescheduled to the 19th, haven't heard anything to say that it's not going to go ahead on that date yet.ScotRoutes wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 9:56 am In the meantime, does anyone know what events have been scheduled for September this year?
