Not a bargain per se, but a great cheap solution to cable/hose routing on the bike. The self adhesive pads work but I chose to add a thin cable tie on smaller diameter tubes.

Thanks, I could do with some for the improvised home office, and a few of them wouldn't go amiss to replace the electrical tape currently in use on my commuter

I reckon if you used some of that 3M stuff used to stick Go-Pro mounts to helmets, etc. they'd be as secure as anything.

Think that was frame and fork at one point. Think its gone up to £450 at one point as well. Its one of the reasons I dont bother looking at Planet X anymore

I used to work near a bike shop that sold own brand carbon frames from Taiwan. Chatting to the owner, he'd asked the bloke that ran the frame factory about steel frames. Factory owner was "FFS, I'll have to teach the people to braze etc, so you'll need to order at least 1000". The cost per frame using 531 would have been £15, that's fifteen quid.

^ £15? No chance, I think he's pulling your leg :) Factory wouldn't set up to manufacture in a new material for 1000 units either, that's just 10 runs of the average MOQ for steel frames.

I was in Decathlon in Edinburgh yesterday and they had some Giro Herraduro and Shimano (can't remember model, but mid range) SPD shoes for around £40 in the sale

They certainly look impressive for £1 John.

It may well be fine, but personally I wouldn't risk them for two reasons.
1. I don't know if the lenses would actually filter out UV (at £1 - I'd not necessarily trust them to do so even if they say they do! - although I guess you could test it with a UV pen or something...)
2. I wouldn't trust them to be shatterproof, so if a stone hit them....

If I wanted cheap riding sunnies, I'd probs get them from screwfix or similar for safety glasses, may not look as cool, but I'll know (well know to a greater level of comfort!) that they've met the safety standards I'd be after if riding.

That's just me, just make your own informed decisions

Yes i allso get safety glasses and sunnies form screwfix or a localshop - usually about £2- 5 depending on offers
They also come ina frameless design which i need for road/drop bar cycling

I'd be wary too. Cheap stuff can be cheapest in China as they are good at using the cheapest materials possible to give an outward impression of a thing.

Same here, I use some DeWalt sunglasses from Screwfix. It's got nothing to do with the fact that they were some of the few frames that actually fit my oversized head...

They came in particularly useful a couple of weeks ago when I was out on the bike and a wasp bounced off the lens and stung me on the eyebrow on it's way past. It gave me a bit of a wobble and I almost rode into a hedge, but it was much better that being stung in the eyeball. I was worried that my eye might close up as I was 20 miles away from home, but beyond a little localised swelling it was alright.
