Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Seems this is an offer limited to UK residents, not sure that this is legal but the price of an 830 increased from £239 to €400 when I put in my account details. I have an account with Garmin UK and have recently (in the last 3 weeks) ordered from them and paid in euros. They also increased the order processing time from 2-3 days to 2-3 weeks. Anyone fancy ordering one on my behalf?

Saw that but I'm not good looking enough for their gear. Some 'bargains' however if you are

We're not in Europe now so might be legal(I have no idea if this would be true though)pistonbroke wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 6:47 am Seems this is an offer limited to UK residents, not sure that this is legal but the price of an 830 increased from £239 to €400 when I put in my account details. Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Understood, but nothing's changed in the last 3 weeks. I ordered an adapter for an out front mount to get a piggy back battery once I'd bought the head unit. Bizarrely the price in £ was £11.99 whereas it was €9.99, free delivered, maybe a sign of things to come the way sterling is plummeting. We're not in Europe now so might be legal
I was being a bit tongue in cheek about someone buying one for me as I really want it to be registered to me for warranty, not second hand, given Garmin's tendency to die without reason.
As they say, patience is a virtue, I'm sure I'll get one at the right price soon. In the meantime I'll stay with my Explore which Mrs PB is currently coveting.

Lol... I did wonder and was just about to PM you myself. Glad you were though. I bought my Wahoo Bolt like that (a mate had better discount at Wiggle or Merlins than me) and was glad when I finally sold it on as didn't need to think about the complexities of any warranty issues would bring up... Learnt my lesson and bought the ROAM myself without any extra discountspistonbroke wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 1:00 pmUnderstood, but nothing's changed in the last 3 weeks. Re: Bargain Alert Thread
That would be great Dave, my only reservation is that the warranty would be in your name as being the original owner. Given their propensity to fail for no apparent reason and you and your magic cocktail stick are not on hand, I'd want to be sure they wouldn't be arsey about it. I don't know if it could be bought by you and "gifted" to me therefore giving me original ownership? Any thoughts? If this can be done, I'm happy to ping you the money.Do you want me to get you one Duncan?
Given the 830 doesn't have a card slot unlike the 1030, do you know whether Spanish maps could be loaded from Fietsmap like my Explore?

Looks like 500g and no insulation. You can get a synmat-lite for £45.Does it have an R rating and/or any insulation?
May the bridges you burn light your way
Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Which bit are you disputing ?Quick google says in the EU for customs nionand single market - so buying selling travelling etc is fine but we have left/are not particpating in the political parts [ as we are leaving so they wont affect us]That's not actually true...
I guessyou can argue it either way but for buying purposes nothing changes till the 31/12/20
