Re: Films to watch while isolating
A bit of a weird one this: Everything is Illuminated.
Not going to say what it's about but a few years ago it was on the TV feed at work* for a few weeks and just running in the background while I did my fixes and tests. One day I decided to plug in my earphones and listen to it. It really wasn't what I was expecting. Stars Elijah Wood, he of Bilbo Baggins fame.
*I used to work for a company producing digital STBs for TV so we had access to TV all day since we had to fix bugs reported on particular channels, etc.

I watched a film last night called, Anna. If you enjoy a bit of intrigue, it's worth a watch.

I hate that programme - it makes mid-Wales look grey, dreary and the inhabitants retarded and backwards ... not everyone's like thatLiked it a lot so have moved onto Hinterland

Re: Films to watch while isolating
I know what you mean about Hinterland (same with Hidden on BBC at the moment), it revelled in dreary/atmospheric cinematography and a kind of poverty porn where everyone's house (particularly in them dark hills) was a 70s timewarp. It's a shame, because it was good to have welsh language interspersed in it, but they did kind of ruin it with the imitation scandi-noir.Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 1:24 pmI hate that programme - it makes mid-Wales look grey, dreary and the inhabitants retarded and backwards ... not everyone's like thatLiked it a lot so have moved onto Hinterland![]()

Here's a short video which expresses views that you may or may not agree with relating to the great "Gravelwanker" debate. I broadly agree with Simon Willis on the joys of gravel riding but I still want to ride my other bikes as well.

Playing 'spot the farm / track' did make it more bearable ... one farm I can't place though.

Tom's bike trip film Janapar: Love on a bike. Full film, watch for free until the end of April.
I really enjoyed this; it's not often that I will watch something of this length (I have a short attention span), but this kept me entertained.

Done chores, not sure why I looked this up but it's a brilliant slow-burn thing by Dave Allen. Younger readers probably won't know him but the comments section sums it/Dave up very well. A bikepacker interview could have slotted in there oh so easily

Looked this up following the sad news about Joe Brown. It makes tussock yomping in Welsh rain look like tea with the queen.

Watched Hooks last night, well worth 2 hours of anyone’s time. I struggle to sit down to watch things as I get easily distracted but this made for an enjoyable night in with a beer and some whiskey

A bit too existential for my liking but good scenery. I'm guessing it was filmed in late march / early April 16 so chance of any Highland Trail riders featuring as a cameo...
