G-one tires

Anyone using these, im soon to buy some new rubber for the camino. I like the nano but bit draggy on the tarmac these look good but are they any good?? I want a faster tyre on road with some grip on dry hardpack. I know they will be sub standard in wet mud i dont care about that as iv other wheels

I'm happy with my G-One Speeds but it's easy to find their limit on wet grass and mud. Switched to G-One Bites for the winter but haven't ridden enough in this sub standard weather to comment usefully.

I've had G-One all-round 38mm on my bike for quite a while now and I rate them. Good enough on tarmac, and decent enough on dry off road. They cope OK with light slop too. Mine come up as 41mm on 19mm rims, so that's a bonus.

An an alternative, how about Conti Terra [Speed | Trail]...? 700c x 40mm, great on hard pack, utterly poor show in mud; I've even managed three 160 km plus road and multi-surface rides with them on, so they're not too bad on tarmac either. Had a moment with them this morning as they hooked up perfectly when I left some slitherly, muddy, grass and hit some hard pack canted over; almost made up for the rear spinning madly in some saturated clay, round the edge of a field, earlier in the ride.

I’m a fan of G-Ones in their various guises.
Beware though that they are wear down pretty swiftly so not great for high mileage commuting and the like.

Yep - G Ones are great tyres, I've been running them for the past 2 years, and are perfect for my commute which mixes road and a bit of cheeky off-road.

All Rounds - are basically that - good for bits of gravel and road - deep mud or loose stuff not so good.
Speeds - effectively a road tyre and fairly swift at that.

G-one Allrounds have become my standard spring to autumn tyre after trying a myriad of other tyres. I use 38mm ones which as Faustus says above come out just over 40 on my Hunt-Mason gravel wheels.
They have shown some surprising levels of grip considering the relatively small tread pattern. I often ride local mtb built trails and these rail the berms and jumps really well. I put this down to the quality of the rubber. Never tried them in wet/muddy conditions as they get swapped for Terravail Rutlands from October.
Would recommend.

G-One Allround 29x2.25 in SnakeSkin TL-Easy.
Got them on 30mm internal rims and look huge.
Managed a puncture first ride but ok since and they do fling a lot more mud and spray in the wet than Big Apples did.
I accidentally rode them through some really churned up slop where they are logging round here and stayed upright. Bike didn't always go where I wanted to though.

Probably replace them with a set of the new style Hurricane gravel tyres in 2.4 and 2.25 once 'the riding season' starts. I will probably use these for a mixture of on and off road riding on the dry sunlit uplands of Dartmoor.

True. WTB Nano 2.2 feel faster to me, even on tarmac.

G-One Speed 650x2.0 or 50mm are the fastest of that size that I've ridden. I really like them for road or dry all-road stuff. The 650x2.35s are even quicker but they corner oddly on tarmac and are big enough to give a bit of a self-steer effect on roads with irregular surface.

I've just acquired some G One Ultrabites in 700 x 50c. They are certainly good in the current slop and not too bad on the road. Perhaps the 'Bite' version would be the best of both worlds? They do seem to come up a little smaller than expected on 20mm internal rims, possibly closer to 45c...

I used 700x35 G-One all rounds, found them to be pretty good, as fast as any other 35c for sure.

I'm considering trying some bigger ones on the mountain bike in the future, not sure which though.

Pretty good but sketchy on wet grass and mud.
Work really well on dusty trails.
Little bit draggy compared to others but not a deal breaker.
Wear pretty quick.

I also have some G-ones in different sizes, 38, 35, 30...and like them a lot. Not very durable on the models with best compound though, especially on the rear. Also have the 650bx2.35 I bought for Battle on the beach. Fast as well but not long lasting.

Got the 30mm speed variety set up tubeless on my Tripster. Found them good on road & better than expected on light-ish off road..
Had one puncture on the rear that I think was caused by glass, took a while, but did eventually seal..
Used a couple of 40mm-ish Maxxis on my pivot for the TNR. One is a Re-fuse & (I think) a Rambler. These seem a lot tougher, but not as compliant..

I've used a set of G-One Speed 29*2.35" on my hardtail in summer before when I was commuting on it.
Very fast on road and have taken them down some black level descents at a trail centre before without any problems such as crashing or making holes in the tyres. It was dry though!

I think they're good, only downside though is that they wear really quickly - too quickly for me to justify using on my commuter bike. And once they're worn, they pick up punctures easily.

FYI - Those 'Performance' ones can be run tubeless with enough persistence. Mine almost stay up now for a couple of weeks and it's only been 6 months of effort.
