@DNF that's unbelievable and disgusting at the same time. What is wrong with the world when this kind of thing happens at an amateur endurance event? I'm shocked!
It actually gets weirder that IV stuff, go onto Facebook and search for Standby Hydration Therapy, then scroll down to early June, they have a picture of a cyclist having a drink with the caption Vintage Doping, with a 40% discount being offered, then just before the Arizona Trail Race, May 5, a picture of this rider with the caption "plugging in our boy"
Mikes closing in on Silver City so i imagine he'll fininsh sometime today. Looks like he's backed off with all of the re-routes and a belly full from Pie Town.
Liams joined the party for the fight for 3rd, with Alex and James. It'll be interesting to see how things pan out over the next few days

Liam is still quite a few hours behind. Not to say he couldn't catch up, but it'll be more difficult if the other two are goading each other on a bit
I get Liam to be 20 miles ahead, although Alex & James havent moved for a while which may be SPOT related (9am now so i would expect them to be riding again)
Brians only 10 miles behind now to make it a 4 way battle. I have no idea where hes come from....
Anyone else notice JamesO a sneaking ahead a bit? Arrived in pie town a little ahead of the other 2 battling for 3rd. With a bit of luck he might just get it
Come on James
Mikes pace has really lifted the bar up a long way. He backed off after the diversions were in place. Wonder what time he could achieve with the motivation of the record and some chasing him
Cjell also finished and i all know whos post race party i'd want to go to
Race for 3rd still on with Liam/James/Alex within 20 miles of each other. Anyone going to get the hammer down and finish it tonight?
Given all the detours (in previous years too) why don't they calculate the record on the average speed (like the TT course lap record?). Would seem to be fairer to those that are forced to alter their route and allow direct comparisons to be made?
Incredible efforts by Mike and James. How?

The detours this year were easier/faster than the actual route so its not easy just to do an average. You also have to see the distinction between the race and an ITT and the relevant advantages/disadvantages of each approach. One this is that Mike was ~30 hours ahead of JayP prior to the detour.
Liam/Alex/James still neck a neck with about 150miles to go, with about half of that on the road to the finish. Interesting to watch and remember.....
Notice the fast guys manage without frame bags, just a couple of water bottles. At their speed they hit water sources a lot quicker than I do. I carried 6 litres at times!
