Cjell looks like he's off to a mediaeval re-enactment  ;)

As far as the pace is concerned, it can only be described as blistering. Massive miles day after day, minimal sleep and still FAST!

Cjell cracks me up, good blog too.

Mikes in Brackenridge a good 90 miles ahead of Craig.

Jessie Carlson is being haunted by JayP's ghost, and JamesO has been passed as Liam pulls an all-nighter across the Great Basin

Just got up, first thing was to check the tracker (addict! 8-) )
Was shocked to see how much ground Liam had covered to go ahead of James
As well as Mikes distance considering he's just gone over a pretty high pass
He's going to be pretty hard to catch

1824 miles out of 2745miles (I make that 66.5%) in 8days and 20ish hours.

That is insane!

Has Craig's tracker stopped working or is he just having a very long nap?It hasn't updated in over 11 hours?

Presuming both Craig and James SPOT's arent working.

Where James has him tracked to isnt a place you would hang around, and he should be on the road by now

Just heard that too, which is a shame

JamesO up to 3rd (SPOT issue earlier) just over the boarder in Colorado 15 miles clear of Alex. Liams dropped back so an all nighter across the basin may not have paid off.

Mike with a 125 mile lead over Jesse

A bit more detail on Craig here:

http://halfpastdone.com/2013/06/23/tour ... the-blues/

A very interesting excerpt here about 3rd/2nd place Jesse:
Now in second position, Carlsson reportedly arrived in the small town of Como, Colorado, in a state of shock. David Tompkins, the operator of a bed and breakfast in town, reported that Carlsson arrived shortly after ITT rider Kerrin Walker. “We had a major electrical storm, thunder, lightening, a little bit of moisture, Kerrin just missed it,” Tompkins wrote. “What we think happened is that halfway down Boreas (Pass), Jesse had a flat, he was running tubeless and put a tube in. Coming into Como, it is pretty open; he was found on the town limits dazed and confused, cycling with a totally flat tyre saying he was looking for a guy called Como. We sat him down, got some water and coke into him. We thought he had major concussion. He had obviously come down on his right side, knee and wrist hurt but no cuts or major abrasions. Now he is now lucid, but it took him sometime to come around, he was insisting he was third in the race, all he rembers was the thunder and lightening. We think he was near a lightening hit and was blown off his bike.”

Fair play to the guy for carrying on into the town. Guess is the last thing you would expect as a reason not to finish a race like this :(

Hard as nails Jesse is riding again, and the race for 3rd is on with James being 10 miles ahead of Alex.

Hoping the fire of New Mexico dont cause any major diversions and scupper Mikes potential record time

Just such a huge shame that's he's most probably not going to be able to set a record time. :(

Yeah...by the sound of it it's just not going to be possible to follow the official route, which means the time can't be counted as a record.

So reading halfpastdone.

From Mike
“So when your main rival has gone home, the route is on lock down and your nearest competitor is 200 miles away, what do you do?”
That said, his tracker is on the move. I've not been able to look at any social networking updates as I'm at work...

Anybody else read the posts on Bikepacking.net from Ivguy?

Leaves me wondering with so many pro riders banned, how long till Lance shows up to Banff with his magical IV bags.
