Ride the Sweary Dave-ide
As some of you may know I rode the Tour Divide a few months back and took my camera with me.
Some of you may also know I wield it with a certain style and the Divide was no exception. I've edited the resulting mess into a film that is a bit sh1te, but you do get a flavour for my ride and the trials and tribulations within. The main problem is time whilst out on the trail. There just isn't any to do it right and most of the time you're knackered. So this film contains a lot of me whining away and not many inspirational shots of glory.
Ride the Divide this is NOT.
This version on Youtube is still a bit work in progress as I am testing upload, never done anything this big before. I know it needs more editing. But hopefully you'll find something to laugh at in there.

EDIT: Updated the film a bit, old link won't work

I clicked on the link thinking it would be a short video, not a feature length special. Good job, will come back another time to watch that

Re: Ride the Sweary Dave-ide

Just watched the first 30 minutes and you had me laughing out loud at a few comments. A great watch and look forward to watching the rest later.

Yeah me too. Thirty minutes in and I'm just outside Butte at the moment (on the film, not actually). Really enjoying it. The fathers day bit had me snivelling a bit with you. Lot of it had me laughing as well. Ace

Boss is off this week so might watch this in the office if it's SFW. Any sex scenes I should be aware of Dave?

Whilst furiously cranking his bottom bracket he is disturbed by the young chambermaid.
She asks if he'd like a hand.
After applying plenty of lubrication and with her help he finds he can easily slip into the small ring.

X rated bikepacking - a new sub-genre. Brilliant, shall watch later with crisps and beer and armchair.

Jaysus Stu, if you reckon it'll be teaching even you some new words it's promising to be a pretty damn educational little fillum! I also look forward to having my vocabulary vigourously thrown up in the air and then attempting desperately to piece it back together again

I'm looking forward (dreading)the director's cut of this or perhaps the expletive deleted cut which runs to an action packed 3 minutes.

30 mins in so far and enjoyable so far I liked the late night rambling bit as it captured the state you get into whilst doing this sort of thing.
Massive scenery as well.

Liked that. A bit arty-farty hippyish nonsense but pretty good all the same

There is nothing arty-farty about the picture of Daves "sweary divide" at poncha springs. Well maybe farty.....
Enjoyed it. Sent the link to Steve Moat. "Great, I'm famous for snoring" he said

Edit: and I have had Pimpadelic buzzing in my ear for two days now...

Re: Ride the Sweary Dave-ide
I confronted Steve at Ovando the next day. He said "I don't snore ???". It's amazing the new skills you can learn quickly on the Tour Divide as he picked up that one in two days, overcoming the master that is Duncan in the process.wriggles wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 2:13 pm#yorkshirewhitestone wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 12:59 pm Liked that.
