There's plenty of rooms for you to be isolated whilst you snore.
Maybe I'll tell Dan.

Stu, any unfriendly pubs to avoid? 30 years ago in my motorcycling youth a couple of my mates and I went to one in the Snowdonia area. The landlord feigned total ignorance of the English language and would only speak Welsh even though he'd been speaking perfectly good English to two of his cronies ( who where grinning like cheshire cats) when we walked in. We turned round and walked straight out. His loss as we found a great bikers bar nearby where we spent lots of money over the next few days.

Stuck at work - any chance of a look at the grid reference email please Stu?
Missed the entry deadline and it's the wife's birthday that weekend too - not going to get away for that weekend I don't think.

Hi all, first post, first bikepacking event of any kind. Really looking forward to it, will be on a 'cross bike.

I've never used grid references and I don't use paper maps. I'm more used to lat/long coordinates - is there a list anywhere with accurate conversions of the fifteen way points? Or better still, I file that I can wizard into my Memory Map for Android app.

Many thanks,

Try this: http://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/l ... idref.html

I make no guarantees for the accuracy of the site, just that I have used it before and it seems to work.

Thanks for the tips and the comments, having a bit of trouble finding out where the WRT will be from the grid references, looks like I might have to buy a paper map after all.

I don't like buying paper maps because I'm a nomad so I've got nowhere to keep them afterwards, seems such a waste. Also unnecessary weight if I could get the grid refs. to play nice with Memory Map for Android.

Although I could be talking utter rubbish ... I'm surprised that MM won't play along with OS grid references ?

Yes, it is ridiculous... from what I can gather it is only the desktop PC versions of Memory Map that understand OS grid refs, whereas the iPad or Android versions will only take lat/long coordinates. I might be mistaken

I spotted an app (oooh get me)* that converts GR to lat/long and vice versa.

*Well behind the times.

I'm sure if you were to google OS grid references to lat/long it'll turn up something useful
