29er Inner tube
Need a quick recommendation for a light weight 29 tube for 2.1 tyres. They will be running tubeless but I need a tube to shape them and to carry on my travels.
Any suggestions for a lightweight one that Wiggle might stock as I have to order some stuff from them this afternoon.

I doubt there's really much in it Duncan. Think I'd simply pick something of the correct size from a known brand.

Schwalbe tends to be fine, certainly one of the lighter options in the world of fat bikes.
Avoid Vavert tubes, they’re heavy

I remember the hassle Rich and some other had with the super light tubes on the bb300.
I've just gone with a WTB on in the end as the only other tubes I seem to have these days are WTB and the listed weights didn't seem to be that much different.
Never used one apart from shaping a tyre so hopefully they will work if needed.

Yep I have the Schwalbe fat tube and it's a lot lighter than the other ones I have seen.voodoo_simon wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 2:01 pm Schwalbe tends to be fine, certainly one of the lighter options in the world of fat bikes.

For carrying I use a Schwalbe Extra Light (SV19A) which is 140g. Not available from wiggle though
I've never needed to shape a tyre with a tube for use. Just mount it on the rim, add the sealant, pump up and ride

Re: 29er Inner tube
They are a bit bent from the post, so I thought shaping them whilst the wheels are being built would help them go on a bit easier. After all I will need a spare tube I guess at some point. I'll try and track down the sv19a for the BB200 as it's a lot lighter than the normal range.

Re: 29er Inner tube
Have used the Schwalbe 19A they are ok but i prefer the Specialized Turbo @ 150-160g
They moulding seams are less pronounced meaning they are easier to fix if the hole is near a seam

You could use a 26in tube? I've got some geax ones that are 140g.
Little bit of thumb work getting it in, but doesn't really take any more time, just a different technique. Got 3 29ers between me and the wife, and no 29in tubes.

I have a couple of 650b tunes so I guess that might work. Once the wheel is built i’ll Try one for size.
