Cheers Bob. Is that the tap that says 'not drinking water' which I've drunk from before and been fine. I think this route passes lots more services than the YD300, but it wouldn't be a proper trip without a last minute panic The car's packed and I'm on the 09:00 ferry tomorrow so ready to go.

Yes, but it's fine. That toilet block is private (no pun intended) belonging to the castle. The toilet blocks run by the national park have had their water taps shut off or removed.

I've arrived at the campsite I'm staying at tonight. The weather here is amazing, the car said 23 deg on the way here. Based on this, and the forecast, I've removed just over 2lb of kit from my setup, stuff that was in the pile at home for weeks before I knew the forecast.

Let's hope the forecast is right as the removed kit includes the tarp.

Although luxurious by boner standards my Terra Nova Laser is the smallest tent here by some way, some people have got larger tents for their dogs to sleep in

I'd also wager I'm the only one here who's eaten his dinner out of the pot they cooked it in and doesn't have a table to sit at. At least I can have a shower tonight as it will be the last wash for a few days. My alarm is set for 05:45 as I've got to ride to the start, albeit only 4 miles, but need to allow time for 2 breakfasts before I set off

I've got a banging headache and my stomach feels weird so heading back. Just started with a cold as well (Been trying to avoid people at work this week - seems like I failed).

Anyway the bit of the route I did was nice, fast and flowing with some good views - well done Chris for planning a fantastic route.

Same here, set off feeling great, really enjoyed the route and feeling pretty good then past Scarborough I couldn't keep any food down and was out of energy. Dragged my tired behind to the lion to try and eat something substantial but couldn't keep that down either. Gutted.
Oh, I was doing the route as an ITT starting at Driffield.

Must be something in the air. I'd felt sub standard since midday, threw up at Feizor, felt better but no energy. Camped near Malham Tarn. Slept for 10 hours and then had a pleasant ride back.

Oh well, it'll still be there.
