I was wondering about failure mode. A lot of ECU's used to sit in places about a car cabin that are at the bottom, I.e. foot well. If the cars drains then get blocked or stop functioning (coz leaves and crap get in them), then your car fills with a bit if water and then sits around the ecu...causing an expensive failure that would have been easily prevented if you'd known about it beforehand.

So just checking failure mode so you don't inadvertently go through it again.

I know for example on my BMW that the antenna computer thing for the remote central locking is in the spoiler and not well weather protected. It's prone to water damage and several £hundred to replace. 30mins and some silicone to seal the enclosure avoids the heartache of it going wrong.

Ah right! I've actually no idea. Its a zafira, I assumed it was under the bonnet some short on the circuit board AFAIK that can't be fixed. Was sent away to see if could be fixed. The fault means the radiator fan is constantly on (even when parked and ignition off) unless i pull the fuse.

I'm on a ferry to the Isle of Wight (hi Sean!), sat out on the deck. It's cold, dark, windy, and I have a beer. It's just like bivvying!

Definitely cheery here, extremely tough week at work. Tuesday I did a course so I could erect scaff towers, the idea was so I could then go and put a couple of 10mtr towers up at a venue in Birmingham. Got so site and spent 5 hours lugging the kit up 14 flights of a tight internal fire escape.
The effort ruined me, I’m not sure if it’s tight calf’s from pulling up on the SPD,s but I’ve never hurt so much. Just the calf muscles though.
Site was very tight with a big drop (old imax theatre) so difficult build. Then bicycle to drop the 1/4 tonne speakers, all topped off by one of the hired crew cheerfully informing us that he’d slid the said speaker to the bottom of the auditorium steps while we had a smoke. Unfortunately there was no service lift there so we then had to bicycle ropes and take it down the fire escape

And relax yeah mainly cheery due to not being there, hopefully ever again.

Chaos at home had subsided, family all packed and ready for a holiday
I’m packed too, only taking two small bags compared to the barn sized case of the girls.
They are already strapped to the Fargo
Right after they leave I’m off to a mystery destination, as in I don’t know where in the country yet!
