Top tip re Snow White there MaM ta. They're always blinking closing bits aren't they. Still, can't whinge cos it does get a hell of a lot of use. Absinthe and SnapIt over on Monkey are shut too apparently but I can wiggle round those.

Just got back from a stroll withe the dog over the chase and parts of it are a bit boggy so be warned ,also there's a fair few thorns and spikey bits on the towpath on the ride in gazaddy so make sure your either topped up with sealant or plenty of tubes

Innertubes it is, not tubeless on the ramin yet.hopefully be at yours for just after 9ish. Is anyone taking stoves ( for late night brews) or is dining out the option?

Dining out mate but will take my mug and little stove for some porridge first thing and a brew ,I'm a hungry get even though it's no more than 30/40 mins to the cafe

Waiting for train, pointlessly pristine 4x4 rolls up with bloke driving and lass in passenger seat. Nice of him to give her a lift I thought, even though they've probably only come 400 yards. But no, twit gets out and goes into the station and lass slides into driver's seat and clears off. Apparently she's capable of executing that half of the journey without mishap. Seriously? My parents used to do that 50 years ago.

Ace! straight into Rugers centre, avoid nasty C***a etc, nice little basic caff as usual. Pot of tea and flapjack £1.50! Only there 20 mins and already got all the town goss and info. Lovely place. They also mentioned the Vine as a top boozer - onsite brewery, proper fires etc. Right, spose I gotta ride now then.

I’ve ‘acquired’ some clear gorilla tape through work if you would like some,bound to be even lighter if you can’t see it

tempted - the clear tape would leave the bottle appearing to float in mid-air . Hawking knew a lot about bikepacking. Well he was probably aware of the quantum theory of bikepacking - the more you try to pin down your momentum (ie speed and direction) the less likely you are to have the remotest idea where the hell you are!
