Don't give up thy dayjob!
Managed to make some straps... cut off the buckles (or whatever the nylon bits are called for the actual strap to run through and tighten on itself) from my Deuter bsckpack as well as some standard straps donated me by (I think) Escape Goat.
The upgrade was that I used the original Velcro dual sided (if it was Planet X they might wanna rename it: Sticks Like sub standard as taken from the bonding stuff sold at Screwfix)... Took an age sowing it all together (not sure how uphoslterers and seamster make it seem so easy).
Used Guttermans thread and a thimble with (for) leather needles...

Thats what the plan is when the non bikepacking crew asks on Strava... the types that cringe at us sorts of mud plugging (storm sleeping, mtb-rigid riding) bikepacking folk... As far as they're concerned its just an orange bottom bracket crud catcher
