We are now accepting entries for this years Moors100. Taking place over the weekend of 11-12 May, same format as last year with a slightly tweeked route on day one, still around the 50 mile mark, and a new route for day two with an overnight stop at the fantastic High Paradise Farm. After last year's mass no show, we are doing pre ordered tickets only at £25 per head. This is still a non profit event, I'll not be getting a single penny (but feel free to buy me and Gil a pint!), the ticket covers camping, an evening meal, your first pint of locally brewed fine ale (YOU WILL WANT MORE!) and a breakfast roll and a tea/coffee (and a free hangover) on the Sunday morning. We'll be putting on some live music too. Pretty good value for money I think.
Start will once again be at Goathland, where Friday night camping and all weekend parking will be available at the village community hub for a small donation that goes towards the running of this vital local asset. GPX route and marked maps will be available at the start.
If you are new to the event, you will have 100 miles of pretty steady riding to look forward to. The route is roughly 85% off road, mainly single track with the rest made up with very quiet country lanes. Day two is a little easier this year with more options for food and drink along the route. Expect 6-8 hours riding each day allowing for a relaxed and sociable pace. Expect some wonderful scenery, fun trails through forest, over moorland shooting tracks, ancient drove roads, Roman camps, Steam railways, Cold War radar stations, Pre Historic monuments, country pubs and excellent company throughout. Plus a right good knees up on the Saturday night at High Paradise Farm.
Hope to see you all on't Moor
