Another day, another stove - sorry.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

I'm sure everyone's getting very bored but hey, you never know ;)

I've being sorting gear for forthcoming week long trip and was undecided on which stove to take. It had to be small, light and work with a 450ml mug. I also wanted to have the option of a back up in case I ran out of meths/spilt it, etc. This is the result, it's 50mm x 50mm in total and weighs 16g ... hopefully it'll do the trick.

Good stuff! It's made me think that I should carry solid-fuel tabs in case of emergency too...I've heard some are better than others, is there a brand you recommend?

That's very clever. If if they come up for sale I'll try to resist buying one :)

It does ... and you made me panic, so I've measured it again and yeah it's still 50mm x 50mm ;)

I've just been playing with some Highlander fuel tabs. Seem to be getting pretty good results, they come in big blocks so they need snapping into chunks. They appear not to be leaving the same amount of sticky residue as some others.
