Tarp for 2
Looking at a r1g 7 for me and the boy ,but also interested in mld trail star or other shaped tarps
Any suggestions ( don't mind paying the import tax if the mld is a better shelter for 2 )
Cheers
Stuart

Re: Tarp for 2
TS or TS shaped object is bombproof. Doesn't offer as many options as a flat tarp but the options it does offer cover most bases from 'batten down the hatches' to 'lovely summers evening'. I'm not saying you can't do similar things with a flar tarp but takes more effort.
If the flat tarp route still appeals the Lomo tarp isn't bad. Cheaper than owt else, so if you're not planning to use it that often it might make a good option.

The way the boy is going mate it looks like he wants to get out whenever my shifts align with his weekends or school holidays so maybe 10 times a year,we were due out last night but Saturday I took him on a mainly flat jaunt that ended up being 40 ish miles and his legs were shot and he didn't fancy the 25 m upto the chase ,so hes made me promise we'll get out Friday night looks like my new bivvy mate will drink a lot less than the Australian one

I have a R1g 7 I bought 2nd hand and have never used. Much though it pains me to let go of any kit, it sounds like you've more use for it than me. I can't recall what I paid, but I'm guessing that 50% of RRP would be a good price?

I’ve got a fake trailstar - really weather proof and loads to room for 2.

Have a look at the r1g 7 Colin offered me it's a good price and more than ample room for 2 , probably would have had it myself after I read it's 4-6 weeks for a mld trail star if stu hadn't put this up( the 1 should be a I but swear filter changes it to bicycle if you type correct name )Mitomaniac wrote:No worries thanks for getting back to me. Re: Tarp for 2
Thanks for the info I've got a 3x3 DD tarp but my little boy is mildly autistic loves camping etc but just needs the familiarity/routine of the zips or closing of doors for him to settle we have tried with a tarp and he was a bit anxious etc.
Don't want his hangups to stop him enjoying the outdoors like he does tho.
Thanks again I'll keep an eye out and keep searching

Re: Tarp for 2
Would he be ok with a tarp and mesh big compartment that zips shut? I’ve got a one person one that he can have if it would suit?Mitomaniac wrote:Thanks for the info I've got a 3x3 DD tarp but my little boy is mildly autistic loves camping etc but just needs the familiarity/routine of the zips or closing of doors for him to settle we have tried with a tarp and he was a bit anxious etc.

I think we're now sorted as both the Stu's have made my year with their offer. That would have been my next option I believe

I'm a great believer in what goes round comes round - so in light of Stu's selfless act, I shall be sending him a 3x3 Lomo tarp for him and his lad to use and who knows, maybe they'll scribble me a review. I love this place me.Thank you ever so much for your generosity and consideration, you've made my week well year so far with that gesture I really appreciate it.

No rush Stu. Get some use out of it and ask him to write something when he's had some adventures* beneath it.get him to write a review over the weekend
*listening to your snoring dad, IS an adventure.
