I tried that excuse at BB200 2017 and was passed a hacksawRichard G wrote:Christ... I hope we find somewhere relatively sheltered to stop or my Lunar Solo aint going to be coping!
Edit - Uhh, I might not be able to make this. I've been searching for an hour to try and find where I hid my keys before I went away.![]()
As it stands, I have access to zero of my bikes.

16mm chain... I'd still be sawing in 2019.
Edit - Assuming I can get there, is the parking spot the same place as the start of the ride?

Re: Welsh Winter Bivvy .........
Sorry guys, after messing around for a few hours trying to find my keys I haven't left myself enough time to sort my stuff and make it to this. :(
Hope you have a great ride and I'll see you in the new year.

Went to put the bike in the car and got soaked in less than 5 minutes, can't be arsed with that.
Have fun.
edit: I'm also really hungover after a work Christmas party and probably shouldn't be driving anyway.

Not a problem fellas. Very windy at the moment but not quite as wet as forecast ... maybe that'll come later

May the bridges you burn light your way

Well short and sweet ride had fun but weather to much. So at home now and off on a local day ride tomorrow. Thanks for a funny few hours. See you at the winter event hopefully the weather will be kinder to us. Good luck to those who are staying out tonight.
Re: Welsh Winter Bivvy .........
Well that was interesting! Got up onto the Kerry Ridgeway yesterday to find the ground frozen solid with a sheet of ice right across the track plus rime on the fences and gates. Couple that with some brutal winds and I'd say that was worse that this years BB200 weather. At one point, the 4 of us were walking in the verge, the wind would blow and I'd see my back wheel come level with the front wheel and I'm still making forward progress. Zero traction. Retreated to Bishops Castle and then to Little Stretton to laugh with the invaders. With a bit more vision, I would've stayed in BC and met up, but much too cold to be sitting around.
Full write up to come.

Good weekend as always even if the weather was brutal at times on Saturday.

Trying to ride bikes.
Re: Welsh Winter Bivvy .........
tad windy and slippy but still a great trip, night out was really good wind whipped up a couple of times and it rained a bit but we were all warm and dry this morning

it's not that I can and others can't, it's that I will and others won't.
