Can I order food for takeout? I reckon I could zip ahead, get a foil bag of munch and then rejoin the barbarians before anyone noticed.

Depends on how far you have to go, last years food wouldn’t have sustained you across the pub threshold let alone to the border.Richard G wrote:Can I order food for takeout? I reckon I could zip ahead, get a foil bag of munch and then rejoin the barbarians before anyone noticed.

Re: Another Winter Bivvy :)
As it’s was a slow day at work (waiting for the Christmas shows and resultant rush) my mind started to wander...
If the Welsh lads/lasses are heading east and the chilterns expeditionary force heading west is it possible that we might come within waving distance at apogee of our loops? If so perhaps we should elect a participant to act as an emissary to cross the border and convey Christmas greetings

It’s even murkier than that, my dads side of the family are from Newcastle and Yorkshire, the two halves came together over a shared love of mines in the Kent coal fields.

"came together over a shared love of mines in the Kent coal fields" - that must have resulted in some interesting chat-up lines as your folks were billing and cooing across the candlelit restaurant table
. Still, I'm no better, I always think that me carting Mrs Perrin around lots of old mining areas looking at the "scenery" is a guarantee of her undying love and faithfulness
.

I may have to bale on this ...
Daughter qualified today for her pony club regional championships on 16 Dec. After the year of hell she's had with her previous horse, I'm not sure I can miss it .......... conflicted.

I'm just going outside ...

Shame TBD but not a problem ,kids come first and you'll regret missing out on things when they get olderTheBrownDog wrote:I may have to bale on this ...Daughter qualified today for her pony club regional championships on 16 Dec. Re: Another Winter Bivvy :)
Cheers fellas. Depending on her start time Sunday I may organise a splitter ride and head for Sam's field again, just to keep the tradition going. It's only half an hour from home so provided I get my arse out early enough it won't be a drama. Be keeping clear of that poncey pub though. If it hadn't been for the extra pudding provided by Sam's birthday cake, I might not have made it through the night ....

Re: Another Winter Bivvy :)
It looks like I should be on for this since SWMBO has seen the wisdom of not needing 3 weekends in a row with family. If I start now, I might find all my winter gear in the garage in time.

'food order Paul mate' - or, much easier, change your name to TheBrownDog, choose exactly the same options as Tim, then we're still all square
. As you can see, we'll be surfing the event-horizon of insanity so buckle up for a wild ride..

I'm afraid I'm bailing out - I found out yesterday that I have to take a group to Tignes skiing and will be leaving on the 14th - a bugger I know but too good a opportunity to turn down!
Maybe catch up with everyone on the Winter. Event?

How can you put a skiing trip abroad above a fanciful trip to Salop in probably the pi#£ing rain ,Stevemorg wrote:I'm afraid I'm bailing out - I found out yesterday that I have to take a group to Tignes skiing and will be leaving on the 14th - a bugger I know but too good a opportunity to turn down!
