Re: BB200 planning
Exactly 200km?
Look tolerable, I'm convincing myself that the second half looks less hilly than the first.
Quite excited now.
Forecast's ok at the moment as well.

About 3km short. It'll make a change from 15km longerExactly 200km?

For that kind of gradient I'd have to swap my chain-ring and cog round so they were on the opposite ends and even then I'd struggleRichard G wrote:Thankfully it's still some way short of my off road record, which was 50.8 m/km in the Dolomites.

I'm not ashamed to admit that there was definitely pushing that day.

Strangely, if you reverse the 200, there's still the same amount of ascent but after 55k, the overall general pattern is much more downhill

Doesn't sound so tricky when you put it like that.
Does it?

Re: BB200 planning
Is there a similar profile graphic (or should that be graphic profile?) for the 300?

A brute of a climb and a hooner of a descent in the first 20k. And that descent at 145k ish looks a stonker as well. Hee hee I'm looking forward to this!

Seeing the 200 and 300 profiles so close together it does seem the routes are common until approx 75km

Does that mean we’ve got it easy for the first 75km?Bearbonesnorm wrote:Something like that ... they weren't going to be but I took pity on the 200 riders and made some changes.Seeing the 200 and 300 profiles so close together it does seem the routes are common until approx 75km
Or, it gets messy for the 200km lot after 75km

We're weeing into the wind until we see the actual route

Re: BB200 planning
It wouldn't be the first time people have worked out the route based on the profile.htrider wrote:We're weeing into the wind until we see the actual route

Then back up over Hyddgen perhaps. Tee-hee! I do like being an armchair eventer. Ah no, Llanbrynmair start isn't it, not Stu's. Poor speculation attempt as ever

looking at the weather on Friday (as well as what coming early this week), its going to be a wet one. Heavy showers Saturday and fairly breezy...

The cloud cover will at least mean it's a bit warmer overnight. I was out slightly further north doing the Triban Trail last night with a clear sky and it was (literally) freezing in the valleys. Ground frost and toes like ice cubes.

My current stress is making it to Friday without catching the horrendous cold that is usually due about this time of year. Also, I still need to fix my bike ;-)
