BB 200km: Accommodation

Post by Slowmo »

Hi

Looking for recommendations for accommodation Friday night and Sunday night. Can be anything really. Prefer bricks and mortar, but somewhere to camp if there's nothing else.

Are there any decent pubs in area?

Cheers!

Are there any pubs in the area? may be a slightly better question ;) Nearest is the Wynnstay Arms in Llanbrynmair which is about 3.5 miles away. Don't expect the Ritz but it's clean, friendly and not expensive.

An internet search may bring up the Star Inn ... DO NOT GO THERE, you really won't like it.

If you wany a bit more choice then there's a few places to go at in Machynlleth and Llanidloes both of which are about 12 miles/20 mins away.

Some ideas and stuff at the link below.

Before anyone asks the Bunkhouse isn't avaliable ... sorry.

I kinda recall something being mentioned but don't really recall the details ... let me get my head into gear and see what I can come up with.

ok I kinda guessed that may be so re pubs. Just looking for somewhere that serves man sized meals and quality ale for the sunday night, but that could really be anywhere along the route back east I suppose, within an hour of the finish. So I'll widen the search and see what turns up!

Accommodation for friday is critical though, closer to the start the better, a bivi spot would be perfect. Thanks for the link I'll check out the options.

the Wynnstay Arms in Llanbrynmair
Is that the themed pub you were talking about on the Radnor trip?

The "theme" was Wales, 1972:
