Spoke to a lady at the weekend who said fire had caused lot of forest damage in the Abergynolwyn area recently - also started by kids. How did they know? 'Cos the kids returned a second time to do it again and found the foresters awaiting them! Caught red-handed.

Think we reached a point a couple of weeks ago where the publicity surrounding 'wild' fires started to backfire and has put the idea of lighting one, firmly in the forefront of some tiny minds. Branding seems an appropriate punishment.

Big uncontained fire with dry grass and ground all around in woodland just to boil a cuppa! I know bushcrafters feel the need to have a fire at every opportunity, but there's just no need really
