Help me choose a new flat pedal
I've been trying to get on with flats and finally think I've solved my problems, so now I need a new pedal. The big requirement is it needs to "field serviceable", it'll be getting used in the deserts in the US and bike shops are a long way apart. One that's caught my attention is the Crank Bros Stamp 7, it can be taken apart and greased with minimal tools. I've used the old Egg Beaters which were maintenance heavy but it seems like they've sorted that out. Anything else I should be looking at?

Cheap plastic nukeproof are really easy to take apart .
Trying to ride bikes.
Re: Help me choose a new flat pedal
Just a warning on those, it's possible to have the end bashed in which suddenly makes them more difficult to service!
(You could cut out the bashed plastic, but it would take time)

That's what I'm using at the moment, probably not an expedition pedal.jay91 wrote:Cheap plastic nukeproof are really easy to take apart .
That's a good point. I do lie the bike down when taking pics etc so the ends of the pedals take a bit of battering.Richard G wrote:Just a warning on those, it's possible to have the end bashed in which suddenly makes them more difficult to service!
I've been doing some more surfing, I think Crank Bros are the way to go.JohnClimber wrote:Bought a pair of crank brothers stamp 2 the other month and they are brilliant
