In preparation for the WRT and my Scotland visit.
Mucky Nutz Gut and Face fenders, got both just to see how they work, nice and light compared to what I have.
Lezyne Flow SL side loading cages (L&R) disappointingly my favourite bottles have the groove in the wrong place but others fit.
And a few days back, a pair of Nukeproof Electron Evo pedals, certainly a lot lighter and grippier than the Saints I was using up until now, and my first plastic pedals.
Other stuff due soon and yet more just ordered

And delivered my replacement race face cranks, so now I have a functioning bike again.

I have to say raceface really do stand by their product, posted back Tuesday and replacement received Thursday, but there again if your going to invest serious money on exotic light weight kit you expect some support, often this doesn’t happen, you get “oh it’s out of it’s warranty” etc.

Interestingly they did replace my Next SL with the new Next R cranks ( rated for downhill etc) perhaps they think us bikepackers are hardcore. Even so I’ll accept the 60g weight penalty if they last.

Got some of those spesh drop bars with the 15mm rise. I'd noticed my cowbells seemed to have gotten bent - must have dropped the bike at some point - and the spesh ones were a chunk cheaper. Slightly wider, similar flare and not as much drop. with the 15mm rise it puts my bars up a wee bit so will hopefully make it more wrist and back friendly.

An MSR Trailshot (after the recommendations on here). I already had a Travel Tap which is okay but a bit bulky if you don't actually need to carry it full of water. With the Trailshot I hope to save a little space (albeit with a slightly lower level of protection).

Please, let me know how that works out for you. The Rohbox is so much better than the crappy Cinq5 which is made of cheese, very soft cheese. But I find the Rohbox shifting is much heavier and never imagined it working with drop-bar shifters.

The swag-man brought swag from all over - from our very own Archie Fufkin a PHD jacket and some stupid-light trousers, from the lovely folks at Lyon Eqpt a Synmat, and from over the pond a mini lockring remover that works with thru axles. Not sure I'll ever need it, but feel naked in the back of beyond without one.
