***WANTED*** Leatherman / gerber multi tool or similair

Post by johnnyslowmotion »

Hi folks I'm on the lookout for a leatherman / gerber possibly victorinox multi tool. Preferably with pliers and a few other features. It if could take a bit set than that would be ideal. Give me a shout if you have anything going spare. Thanks in advance :-)

I've got a Victorinox Swisstool X going spare, like this: https://www.victorinox.com/uk/en/Produc ... p/3.0327.N but with no pouch.

It's in almost new condition - been used once or twice but still has the factory oil on the pivots.

I'd like £70 for it if you're interested.

Beware, the swisstool is the most robustly made multi tool so it's very heavy for bikepackink. I keep one of mine under the seat of my motorbike as i don't have to worry about the weight

Yeah it's quite hefty. Beautifully made though.

Thanks for the offer mate but I think I've got my heart set on a leatherman or gerber. I read the reviews on the victorinox and they are all great so I'm sure you'll sell it no problem. Cheers

No worries. Hope you find one that suits.

Personally I'd choose Leatherman over Gerber (and Victorinox over Leatherman), but Gerber are cheaper.

There are too many too choose from, that's the thing. Plus I'm having a bit of trouble finding all the blade lengths for different models as I know it has to be under 3" to legally carry it in the uk

Strictly speaking it has to be under 3" and non-locking to be totally legal, which limits you to a Leatherman Juice, Squirt, or Kick (if you can find one) or Gerber Dime, Vice or Bear Grylls Compact. There are knifeless models out there too (Leatherman Knifeless Rebar, Gerber MP600 Bladeless and a few others).

But if you've got good reason then a locking blade or one over 3" long is OK. You're not going to get prosecuted for having a multitool with a locking blade in your bike toolkit.
