Spotted - A couple of new shelters.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Just spotted a couple of shelters that might be of interest over at http://www.backpackinglight.co.uk/page36.asp. The top one is the Sil-Rocket and sort of reminds me of the Golite Shangrila 1. Use it with or without the inner net or in a higher pitch as a tarp. The Sil-Shelter (bottom one) is a bit different, looks like there'd be plenty of room but I've never seen a tunnel morph into an ridge before.

I also see that there's a new Silnylon version of the Mini Peak too ... few quid dearer but lighter.

I like the look of the Sil Rocket but it's a bit on the heavy side when compared to something like the Lunar Solo.

I suppose you have to bear in mind that at it's full weight it is actually a double skin tent.
