Velcro One-wrap strap
Does anyone know where you can get short lengths of wide (50 or 100mm) one-wrap? I can find wholesalers https://www.hookandloopfasteners.co.uk/ ... -wrap.html but I don't really want 25 metres of the stuff! I'm only after a couple of metres, actually even that's probably too much. I'm not after the version that has a stick-on back.

I’d just pop down to the local market.
Probably have something similar in one of the sewing shops where you’ll just be able to buy what you want.

Good shout Chew. I'll search out a haberdashery (not a word you'd expect to see on a forum like this)

Re: Velcro One-wrap strap
Boyes often have different types of velcro in, worth a look.
Re: Velcro One-wrap strap
I've bought it in a local hardware store, they had all sorts and types on a Velcro display stand, double sided, self adhesive, pre-cut circles etc.
If you can't find it locally a quick search on eBay found some, for example

I've found many useful items at Hobbycraft. Luckily I also have kids and an arty daughter so perfect "cover"

Re: Velcro One-wrap strap
Just checked in town (Shipley) and got blank responses
I should explain what I want it for I suppose. Stem cells and the like have a loop that wraps around the stem (duh!) but with everything else mounted around there it can be awkward to get things sorted. My thought was to wrap the whole of the stem in One-wrap so that the stem cell loops can grip that and not rely on catching part of the other end of the loop. Hope that makes sense.

Re: Velcro One-wrap strap
Sounds like a plan.
I link my stem cells to each other rather than the stem as I'll normally use one either side and then just a strap on the bars for each one too. a bit fiddly sometimes with a fuel cell on and bar bag, but once they're on for a trip that's usually that.
I guess if you're taking them on and off daily, your idea might be easier, but if its to wrap the stem you could just use more than one wrap of a narrower tape?

Re: Velcro One-wrap strap
That sounds like a good idea actually. I've replaced the velcro straps on some of my Alpkit bags with webbing straps with ladderlocks since I found I couldn't get as much tension as I wanted with the Velcro. My thought was to wrap the whole of the stem in One-wrap so that the stem cell loops can grip that and not rely on catching part of the other end of the loop
I keep meaning to find out what the One-wrap stuff is called because I need some of the thin stuff for MYOG Muckynutz-type guards, so cheers

Cheers Craig, I'd seen the narrow strips of that with a plastic loop at the end but didn't realise you could get it in a plain roll (confusingly sold with the same description!), a bit of going through all the options and I see there's a 50mm wide version.
