Best one man tent - on a budget

I have tried the bivvy bag and tarp option and decided I hate bugs too much. So am thinking about getting a lightweight one man tent instead - needs to be packable, light, decent for UK conditions and with a bug proof inner. Something suitable for the Cairngorms next year (hopefully!)

Budget not limitless unfortunately - £150 max.

Any suggestions welcome!

The Wild Country Zepheros 1 would be a good choice

Stretching the budget a little, but a Vango Force Ten F10 Helium UL 1 for about £175, really well made and only 1.2Kg.

I'd second the helium

Very quick and simple to pitch and pack with a small footprint.

Though I have the 2 man for a bit more space and it's still only 1.3kg and you could just use the outer out of buggy times.

I think I'd be taking a look at something like a Mini-Peak. It'll weigh roughly the same as a 'normal' tent but you'll have much more room.

Zephyros 1 only £79.99 and Zephyros 2 for £99.99 at Winfield's. I'd go for the 2, not much price, weight and pack size sacrifice for the extra space

allso this is what eve and i used on the WRT this year fited in my bar harness no problem , and i have had it up in baaaad weather but is a small 2 man rather that a 1 man 2kg so not hideous but a bit heavy

Following on from recommendations found the Vango option is out of stock largely but then came across this:

from Amazon Global Store. Slightly worried about "Manufacturers Warranty Will Not Apply" bit and the fact that with any issues would need to return to US.

Am I overthinking this? As tent meant to be so good just go for it?

Are you likely to get stung for duty? That could stop it from looking like too much of a bargain if you do.

I have the top of the range vango ostro, mountain tent that i use for scotland winter car campin for skiing, and im not tgat happy with it, its ok and holds up well to the weather but snaped a pole second outin putting it up in the wind , all the poles are a bit bent after a years use and build quality not as good as the quetchua drcathlon tents i have kinda wish i had got the simond mountain tent insted.... So be a bit wary of the new vango tents,

I have a Robens Starlight 2 ad it's a great tent. Very quick and easy to pitch and it's been great in all weathers. It's a modest sized two man tent or a generous 1 man tent. They do do a 1 man version of it. Cost was about £95 ish.

I'm not sure how they get their weights but mines a lot lighter than what they quoted.
