Hangers Made of Cheese
Well i bent the stock Camino hanger when the bike blew over and banged on the ground after a couple of weeks. I've now done the replacement in after bicycle and myself hit the road and bounced a bit on a roundabout. Hopefully the third one will be lucky when I can actually ride a bike again. As they are starting to become consumables for me, can any of you get some tips on straightening them without a massive workshop worth of tools.
Many thanks

Re: Hangers Made of Cheese
Straightening mech hangers is 1 of the few jobs that really benefits from using the correct tool.
This http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/x-to ... prod122319 is little more than a replacement hanger costs and saves lots of guesswork and unnecessary bending. I won't insult your intelligence by explaining why soft mech hangers are a good idea.

Yeah, I have one of those in my toolkit (not exactly that, but very similar).

andthe bike blew over and banged on the ground
I don't think it's the hangers that are at fault.after bicycle and myself hit the road and bounced a bit on a roundabout

May the bridges you burn light your way

We could blame the weather, and a car/diesel as I am currently too sore and feeling too sorry for myself to accept any responsibility !!Bearbonesnorm wrote:andthe bike blew over and banged on the groundI don't think it's the hangers that are at fault.after bicycle and myself hit the road and bounced a bit on a roundabout

Ta for the link, that's a great price compared to a park tools one. Both far, far cheaper than the 100+ for a new mech.pistonbroke wrote:Straightening mech hangers is 1 of the few jobs that really benefits from using the correct tool.

Re: Hangers Made of Cheese
I'm genuinely disappointed by the lack of actual cheese in this thread.

I may be the only person who laughed when he saw a panda, on a cheese thread.
