I have been playing with one on my Cotic Escapade for a while, makes things quite entertaining! Or sketchy at high speeds.
Droppers are quite common? No?
Whyte rolled out their gravel bike with a dropper and for a long time, I thought Pro-peloton domestics should use them (in case of a bike change with the leader and the car can't access them)

And also because you can get more areo with the seat slammed and not do that crazy crouching-on-the-crossbar-wobbly-tastic thing

I saw someone doing that yesterday Not even on a very long hill either.

I like the look of this. Btw that's not a dropper. I saw the marketing guff the other day, it's a waterproof sealing thing, like a gator to stop the frame flooding if it ends up getting dropped in the drink. It's got a stupid name.
Norco has come up with some neat bikes lately
Discussing pricing elsewhere I do think they're doing quite well too in this regard. But apparently they'll go up due to SRAM upping their prices for 2018 (at least for Switzerland).

Would a quick release seat clamp not work just as well?
I think they introduced them so they could literally just jump on a bike and adjust in motion.
While I can imagine you could withe a QR seat clamp, I wouldn't like to actually do it :)
