Paul / Matt that all looks good. Catch up at BB all being well, but Matt's route should work.

Chew & myself spoke at BB and emailed each other since. Chew has a basic route as a gpx file we can send anybody interested with a few extra's I know we can use depending on weather and peoples enthusiasm on the day.
Plan is to meet at a cafe near Sheffield at 1200 for a 1300 start on 8th December and ride out from there to a pub and onto a bivvy spot.
PM either Chew or myself for details.

Right then you lot, the English Winter Bivi Gala will be as follows
The plan is to meet here, from about 12ish at the cafe, have a brew, chat and a glance at the map*, with the aim to depart around about 1ish
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=43 ... 84976&lm=0
As with most good adventures there isnt much of a plan, apart from some riding, a pub stop and sleeping under the stars.
Everyones welcome, just bare in mind the conditions, and bring some lights (it'll be dark by 4)
*can someone bring one

I'm going to be a DNS unfortunatley.
Excuses: riding in Wales the weekend before / realised how far I'll have to drive home on Sunday evening / starting new job on Monday 3rd so doubtful I can get an early finish on Friday...the list is long enough to throw the towel in.
Hope it goes well.

Re: Winter bivi/bothy/hammock gala 2012 (England?)
Is this going ahead still and is it the same weekend as the welsh gala guys?
Re: Winter bivi/bothy/hammock gala 2012 (England?)
Yes, everythings still going ahead. Same weekend as the Welsh lot.
Not sure who's comming along yet, but think its myself, Kevin and a few of the Derby based lot, unless theres a few quiet lurkers around

Derby contingent is Markenduro, Martin and myself. Also 99percentchimp & his mate are meeting in Sheffield.

Not me anymore, sorry - Nephew's birthday and imminent kitchen re-fit means I've run out of brownie points. Have a good 'un.Chew wrote: Not sure who's comming along yet, but think its myself, Kevin and a few of the Derby based lot, unless theres a few quiet lurkers around

so gutted - won't be able to make the bivi, various issues but the main one being childcare.
will keep my eye on the plans though and if I get a chance to ride out and say hi I will - or maybe just meet you fir a coffee and lend you a map!

A few shots from a chilly ride into Derbyshire - great weekend and a good mix of weather. Icy roads and the world's largest pork scratchings. Great company and a great ride. Cheers to AW for some local knowledge and coming out to see us off.

Rained all night and strong wind up the valley leading to a clod start. It was a 3 cuppa ride back to Sheffield!
The intrepid foursome at the start, thanks to AW for taking on photographer duties:
