Had a few days in the North West of Scotland Munro bagging - it's years since I did any fell walking and my quads are wrecked! Anyway, here's a cheesy sunset shot from the campsite in Ullapool

I took one on the phone as well so I'll post that when I get it transferred to see how that compares in quality.

Ballymastocker Strand in Donegal last weekend. Watermarked as I was out there working for SleepMonsters on The Beast adventure race.

We went to Skogafoss but didn't manage to get out to the abandoned plane. The second shot is Strokkur at Geysir?

From when I hiked across the interior of Iceland a few years ago I was under the impression that under all circumstances that you had to stay away from the green moss as it takes hundreds of years to grow and establish itself. So that means keeping to established paths, not walking on it and certainly not camping on it.
Re: Photos you have taken in the last month of which you lik
Yep. A friend over here told me there were a couple of guys got there hire 4x4 stuck of the road while driving across it, needed to get a recovery vehicle out to extract them. Can't remember the figure but they got a huge fine, plus the cost of recovery, deposit and excess for said car etc.
It's one of the reasons I don't fancy mountain biking out there, you can really only ride the track/trails the the walkers also use. And there are lots of them this time of year as the window is pretty narrow due to river crossing etc.

The bridleways in Iceland are just that - routes for horses. They have a surface similar to all weather racing tracks here in the UK. They are hard enough to walk on for a few metres.
There's plenty of hiking trails and once you get away from the honeypots, even by a hundred metres or so, you are unlikely to see anyone. The main exception would be the Landmannalaugar trail which is the trail that everyone knows about. Even at the main tourist hotspots like Thingvellir with a full car park, walk a couple of hundred metres and the crowds disappear.

Don't disagree, buts the access as much as the crowds. You shouldn't walk up into the gorge in Thinvellir for instance. I know because I was talking to a ranger in May, telling him how quiet it was once you got of the path, "well you're not supposed to go in there, that's why!"

I wasn't meaning going off the paths, just staying on the marked trails things get very quiet very quickly.

So I wasn't lucky enough to catch any meteors last weekend, however I did come away with 122 images of the sky, so last night to sat down and started blending them…

Thinking about heading down to Durdle Door tonight. Very little moonlight so it should be ideal for shooting the Milkey Way.
