Looks interesting, might be worth getting the Foretrex 701 as it
. never know when that'd come in handy.adds Applied Ballistics Elite software that calculates aiming solutions for long-range shooting

Am I missing something? Aside from giving you a present location, what does it do that 'we'd' want?

A simple, inexpensive, likely robust, AAA powdered, accurate, compact GPS unit.Bearbonesnorm wrote:Am I missing something? Aside from giving you a present location, what does it do that 'we'd' want?
Can be bar mounted.
If I hadn't thought it wasn't of interest to the group I wouldn't have bothered.

Don't be like that ... it was a genuine question, sorry if it came across differently. If I hadn't thought it wasn't of interest to the group I wouldn't have bothered.

I know you've stated its features but what can I actually do with it? It doesn't look like it'd be much good for navigating with and it doesn't appear that you can add maps to it.

My apologies; the internet is not the best for reading context.Bearbonesnorm wrote:Don't be like that ... it was a genuine question, sorry if it came across differently. If I hadn't thought it wasn't of interest to the group I wouldn't have bothered.![]()

To be honest I haven't investigated too much other than looking at the Garmin page.
The price, robust nature, and ability to make use of three GPS systems (American, Russian, and European) made it look of interest.
I know the etrex is of interest due to its simplicity. This has the option for off the bike use.

I don't think it's required but any excuse.

The posting of a 'panda pic' is a way of calming proceedings down a little should things on here become 'tense' - not required in this case but I don't think we've had one for a while and seeing as Ben asked nicely.Someone will have to explain the pandas'

It's one of the reasons they find it so hard to make baby Pandas. A lack of the requisite bits.Dave Barter wrote:That panda does not appear to have an arse? or is it somewhere else

Is no one else picturing a BearBomes thong on that thing

Re: new wrist mounted garmin foretrex 601, might be of inter
