Re: Jenn Ride - Bearboners...
Forecast seems to have improved today. Hope it sticks.
Re: Jenn Ride - Bearboners...
Just back from a short ride around Green Quarter. It's lovely & dry up there, apart from the few boggy bits which seem never to dry out. A lovely day here with cirrus, cirrostratus & cumulus and 20C.
Re: Jenn Ride - Bearboners...
Waiting on my bivy bag to arrive otherwise it's going to be flappy tarp and the stars for me! That's if my southern softie mate gets his @rse into gear and stops checking the weather...

Re: Jenn Ride - Bearboners...

Better weight than wisdom, a traveller cannot carry
Re: Jenn Ride - Bearboners...
We're Almost there. Magic sunset. Who's in the pub?
Re: Jenn Ride - Bearboners...
i set off at 6am with the fast 200 lot, but with plans to get a 3 hour start on the 100 bunch.
managed to get halp way up Garburn pass before i had to call it a day.
i hasten to add, it was not through lack of fitness, but from my useless fused foot not being able to cope with pushing up the boulder field of a path.
i fell over twice fearing i was going to twist it or worse.
i have now come to the conclusion that my mountainbiking days are finally over.

Re: Jenn Ride - Bearboners...
That's a real shame. Why don't you try the rest of the route, it's all rideable after that push isn't it

Not all rides involve pushing Tony. Plenty of great riding and good times to be had without ... chin up.
May the bridges you burn light your way

Tony......I sympathise with your position, I'm struggling at the mo with a few issues
But have had a good day out walking today in the peaks and surprised myself....
Going to make changes to my bikes but keep going, yes the 'mountain biking' might
Change a little but gravel and forest is still riding.....

Good to see a bunch of you again, and some for the first time.
Riding as mashed up as I was probably wasn't smart, but I don't think I've made things any worse, and as painful as it was, I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Great couple of days.

cheers rich great route and thanks to burty for nursing me around/ saving himself from ss agony

it's not that I can and others can't, it's that I will and others won't.
Re: Jenn Ride - Bearboners...
What a great weekend. Just enough rain to keep the dust down :)
Thanks to Rich for organising.
Big thanks to Carl for the chain - saved my nuts from more dandy-horse agony.
Cheers to Matt for making the last 10 miles such a giggle.
Where do I sign for next year?

So Tonto,
I hope it wasn't you who had left a phone on charge in the cafe in Ableside on the Sunday.

Not me, I turn my phone off while riding, don't want real life to spoil my fun.
