Sunday night recommend me a gadget hread

I don't actually need anything. Got tarps and poles and cooking stuff, sleeping bags and pretty much everything a bikepacker could want or genuinely need.

And yet .... I know that somewhere out there is another gadget like the Pocket Bellows BenP brought along to the winter bivvy to spur on our fire.

Any ideas?

Do you have any battery powered fairy lights?

Very useful addition to anyones kit and adds a certain something to any wood or hillside ... cheap too, so pretty much guilt free.

Those bellows were stunning - we could have forged horse-shoes with the fire after those were deployed.

Useless gadget... hmm..... mini petrol-powered leaf blower for those slightly-too-leafy bivi spots? mini patio heater for when the bothy is just a TAD too chilly for Sir's delicate constitution? mini driveway jetwasher for getting your hammock spick and span before turning in? (my top three hates of all time there, sorry patio/planet heater lovers)

Brilliant, it's a spanner too. Ideal for removing doors in bothies and dismantling benches and the like before cutting them up for the fire

A Kindle, weighs nowt but I've enjoyed mine on long winter nights. Mine was a suprise gift from Mrs D (well it was Christmas but still a surprise) I would replace it in an instant. I've not figured it out but I believe you can put maps on it (black and white) as a backup. Highly recommend.

Some nice suggestions. I quite like the torch you can set fire to your tent with. Pete, Ive got big sparklers, which will have to do. Been looking at lightweight axes too. Not sure what Id actually do with one.

A Timber Bell...I even put it on when no one is around just because I love the pleasant tinkling sound, sadly I guess the novelty will wear off

Pleased you like the pocket bellows Tim, they're handy for proper fires

I have lots of useful/gucci kit from bushcrafting but it's generally all quite heavy/robust so don't take it bikepacking

How about lighting gadgets?
- inflatable lantern
- exposure diffuser
- mini lantern
- candle lantern (I love my UCO one, not the lightest in the world but it lets out a very atmospheric light)

Coffee stuff
- heavy end would be an aeropress
- light end would be a GSI ultralight java drip

Cookset
- silicon pots for putting inside your metal pot for steam baking?
- silicon hot lips for drinking
- folding Ti utensils (spork/chopsticks)

Sitting equipment
- sit mat (inflatable, reflectex or ccf)
- chair kit for your thermarest or other mat
- lightweight fold up chair (like something from Helinox or Alite)

Is it wrong that I have almost all of the above?

I don't have an extending marshmallow stick though. I'd need to get a whole load to be able to share them out like last time. Plus those little wooden skewers became fuel so I was lighter going home (plus those marshmallows were enormous so I saved a whole load of pack space!)

Ben, I am so getting some of those silicon hot lips thingies. Totes amazeballs. Now I can drink out of the mug I boils me waters in without singeing me lips.

And while on the subject of marshmallows, shall we get a dozen of these Light My Fire Grandpa's Fireforks because a sharpened stick will only toast one at a time and if you know me, you know I am a man of some appetite.

Surely hollow carbon-fibre chopsticks would be lighter and could double-up as drinking straws, thus saving unnecessary weight .
