Hello
I thought i would say hello to one and all. I have been lurking and reading for about a month now. Bivvied with my bike, for the first time a couple of weeks ago and plan to do a bivvi a month.
I recognise the familiar feeling of acquiring "essential gear" for a new obsession that has seen me go from one bike to six and now back to three, passing through the lands of single speed and fixed gear. With a purchase from Anthony, i'm about to move into rigid off road 29 er land. I have even made a few stoves for the first time in years and found myself reading TGO today in Tescos for the review on shelters: the Trailstar gets a Best Buy award.
Anyway, hello to you all. I am pushbikemike. I have an (un)healthy obsession with bikes.

Re: Hello
Talk of Trailstars, MYOG stoves and rigid 29ers all in one post ... superb effort

May the bridges you burn light your way

Re: Hello
Cheers for the welcome. The forum is eating into my worktime in the same way singletrackworld and fixed gear gallery did, many years ago. :)
Re: Hello
Hi there, Restlessnative lives down your way (Innerlethan or Selkirk I believe) and i'm in Edinburgh, in fact i'm coming through Peebles on Monday (middle day of a 3 dayer). You thinking of doing the Christmas bash with us? The more the merrier :D.

Hello! I'm in Outer Melrose. Good to see more Border folk.
What route you doing Ray?
What route you doing Ray?
Re: Hello
Route is from Edinburgh. I don't have access to the car so mainly side roads to Innerleithan to start, then circular from Traquair to Kirkhouse over Minch Moor, over Blake Muir then Dun bicycle to Peebles, south through Manor Water valley to Megget resevoir, over Dollar Law and Pikestone Hill to Stobbo Castle, up into Harrowhope and Broughton Heights then back to Edinburgh through the Pentland Hills. I have done all these paths before except Minch Moor but this is the first time I have strung them all together. Will be posting photo's and details after i'm done. :D .

Re: Hello
Hey, Pushbike, Restless, Gari (if you want to travel this far) and anyone else of course, just a thought as I will have to put it past the wife, but would you be interested in an overnighter down Peebles way towards end of Oct begining Nov? Why not meet up before the christmas bash to get to know one another? 8-) .

Re: Hello
3 and 4th November are out for me. How about 20th 21st October?
Re: Hello
Sounds good to me. I'll start a new thread on "Anyone playing out" and call it Peebles Pedal. Pushbike, as your local do you fancy setting the route as my knowledge of that area is limited, or should we just wing it and decide on the day?pushbikemike wrote: How about 20th 21st October?

Re: Hello
I may be local but pretty ignorant of trails. Spent the last few years mainly visiting glee tress and Innerleithen when time allows. I've been looking at some maps and should get out a couple of times to check out trails before October.
