Which Bottom Bracket

Post by Chew »

Bottom bracket is on its way out, but considering the amount of water it's had to contend wih this 'summer' I'm not surprised.

Recommendations?

Either go down the cheaper route of shimano/superstar or splash out on something like Hope and see if it lasts longer?

Talking standard hollowtech btw

I like Hope stuff and the BBs are designed to allow replacement of the bearings when they're kaput, unlike many others, particularly Shimano. You pay more for the Hope, admittedly.

Pace do a version with the option of grease gunning them regularly to improve lifespan:

Not that I've used or heard much of them mind.

Hope every time!

Fit and forget - mine's been running without incident for the last couple of years and is still going strong.

I've been running a Hope ceramic since January & it's still smooth as butter with quite a few wet miles in the bank. Difficult to argue with Shimano from Rose Bikes though at the price they charge (sub £20).
