TOGS......can't be that hard.
There is quite a bit of interest in Togs on another post but looking at them there is not really a lot to them so I'm challenging all the bodgers out there (including myself) to come up with something that would do the same whilst being cheap, relatively easy to make (no CNC machining
) and look OK. Post results on here.

Re: TOGS......can't be that hard.
A pair of stubby barends cut down to 2-3cm and mounted in board of the grips would do much the same.
Re: TOGS......can't be that hard.
I'd had the same thought, but then through laziness bought a pair of TOGS. I'd not realised quite how 'thin' they are - so they don't get in the way when placed between the inner end of the grip ad the brake lever - a bar end (clamp) would be somewhat more intrusive...ScotRoutes wrote:A pair of stubby barends cut down to 2-3cm and mounted in board of the grips would do much the same.
be interesting to see what the fine minds of Bear Bones create
Not so much a gravel grinder.... more a gravel (mud and tarmac) groveller...
Re: TOGS......can't be that hard.
I had/have a set. couldn't get them tight enough to not rotate out of the way, broke them trying. somewhere in the bottom of my parts bin now.
Re: TOGS......can't be that hard.
A little more ghetto but what about Sugru or FormCARD melted into shape and stuck into the inner lock ring of grips? (provided they're lock ons)
Atleast if you don't like it they just melt back off.

A couple of these things might do it, either with some Sugru moulded over them or just wrapped in lekky tape?

I'm just going outside ...

Looks a good candidate for some homebrew 3D printing.
I'll get round to it... Just give me 5 years or so.

Well that didn't take long, not finished yet but here we go. A good rummage through the spares box revealed a pair of plastic bodied brake levers of unknown vintage and origin. I used a hacksaw, then a woodwork chisel and finally a file to get the shape. I may have to cut down the width of the clamping area but won't know until I try to fit them.

NIcely done, that was quick!
Re: TOGS......can't be that hard.
Well that didn't quite work as planned. The narrow bit that you loop your thumb round sat too high for it to be comfortable. Removing further bits from the clamping area only resulted in it falling apart. Oh well, try again.
