Started the year with no plans, I'll likely finish the same way ... whatever happened inbetween was good :-bd
May the bridges you burn light your way

This was mine
1 - keep my commuting mileage up so my legs stay ok
2 - continue cycling with the dog round the park, but regularly take the longer more fun option
3 - fit in a handful of trips in the outdoors
4 - try to meet a mate regularly for a local off road potter (which have been happening once a week for the last few weeks)
1 - tick - over 3k miles on Strava and I'm short a few hundred as I don't record everything
2 - tick, though I haven't done the longer version as many times as I'd like
3 - tick. Made Bearstock which I wasn't expecting too. Also managed to get out to the Alps for a walking trip which wasn't originally in the plan either
4 - tick. Had a few weeks gap every now and then but it's still been pretty regular over the course of the year

BUT, it was a fairly realistic plan!

Didn't get into the Leadville 100 again, which was a bit of a downer. Can only really keep trying with the lottery (or blowing $2k on a paid placement).

BB200 actually went better than I was expecting given I hadn't recovered from the broken ribs. I could have gone faster if I was 100%, but I was more than fast enough.

Everything else went to plan pretty much. Way, way too many injuries though, and some unfinished business thanks to a big crash in the YD300.

My plans constantly changed/developed/evolved over the year. I'm riding fairly well which is good, might have been tinkering with 4 wheeled dinosaur juice powered things for a bit of the year too - which has also depleted funds quicker than bicycle stuff does

I did manage to do a belated BB200 though after my initial plans got scuppered by illness (and I rarely get ill :| ), but pleased I managed to get round in less than 100% shape and some sub standard weather conditions.

That's actually the only notable thing I've done on a bike this year I think, oh and maybe my 90 miles before work on "Cycle to Work day"

I did that in my trusty little Mazda 323 as a sort of "1 final trip" sort of thing. Some good motoring Image

Thoughts awandering into 2017 - I've just put a deposit on a road bike, and have at least 1 x 2017 "adventure / mini-trip" planned on that with a couple of friends.
As usual, we'll just see how things pan out. Image

I like the revisiting old goals idea!

What I don't like is how poorly I performed this year but still.....
gairym wrote:Lots of things in the planning stage and so the reality is unlikely to match the list below but......

- January: Austria Fatbiking. - check!
- January: Snow Bike Festival, Switzerland (free place as otherwise could never afford the entry fee). - ill.
-March: Fatbikepacking trip in the Jura. - too much work.
- June: Tuscany Trail, Italy. - rode but not completed.
- July: The Etape Du Tour. - check!
- September: Turin-Nice. - rode but not completed.
- October: BB200. - injured.
